Dita Von Teese Striptease at John Paul Gaultiers catwalk showFashion designer John-Paul Gaultier has long been known as the wild child of the fashion world, never afraid to push the boundaries and cause people to stare at his creations in wide-eyed delight.

It was, after all, Gaultier himself that put Madonna in that cone shaped bra!

It would seem that he is up to his old tricks and is more than willing to regain his Wild Child title now that he no longer designs for luxury fashion label Hermes.

Gaultier left Hermes so that he could concentrate on designing under his own name, one of his first projects being a range of lingerie for La Perla.

It would seem then that his work with the Italian lingerie retailer has inspired him in other areas of his vocation, as the lingerie influences were clear to see in his recent fashion show.

Not only were models sent down the catwalk in corseted waists and stockings, he also concluded the show with a striptease from burlesque star Dita Von Teese.

Teese hit the catwalk wearing a flowing black gown, slowly peeling it off to reveal a black and nude corset overlaid with sparkly black ‘bones’, said to represent the way in which lingerie is the ‘bones’ of any fabulous outfit.
