Lingerie Sales Increase as Recession Deepens
A global recession has effected the nightly habits of people world-wide. While the sales of alcohol have not plummeted, the business at night clubs has gone down. A recent study in Great Britain found that the majority of people in the country are going to bed by 10:30 P.M.
Jockey Underwear conducted survey of 3,000 men and women. Respondents said that they were slipping into their pyjamas as soon as they got home from work. The desire to slip into a person’s pyjamas earlier in the night results in adults getting more sleep than they have in the past. British adults are now going to bed one hour earlier than they had in the previous year.
Jockey Underwear suspects that people are attempting to ride out the recession and spending fewer time in pubs and night clubs. Fewer nighttime outings have caused the number of wide-screen televisions and home deliveries of pizza to rise throughout the United Kingdom.
Perhaps one of the odder effects of the recession may be related more to the desire for comfort than a desire to save money. Pyjamas sales have risen in the past five years. 71 percent of the people who responded to the survey said that they broke down and bought a pair after years of not owning any.
Men who responded to the survey say that their wife or partner often borrows their Pyjamas or pinch their TShirts. 81% of the men who responded said that they found ladies in men’s pyjamas just as attractive as women in lingerie, according to a Jockey Underwear spokesperson.

I’m more likely to wear nice pj’s now we dont go out as much, as I’m spending more time in them. My hubby would not appreciate me in one of his tshirts, I guarantee.
