Figleaves sold for £11.5 million
Figleaves has long been a significant name when it comes to supplying us ladies with lovely lingerie.
For online lingerie shopping we all know that Figleaves is one of the best places to have a browse, as the company has made a name for itself as a supplier of well made, high quality, comfortable and – of course – beautiful lingerie.
Perhaps rather unexpectedly, Figleaves was founded by electrical engineer Daniel Nabarro, who initially made his fortune by selling his first company in 1989. Nabarro then decided to set up a lingerie company and to do so he recruited some of the biggest names in management, clothing and retail.
Figleaves quickly grew in popularity, offering items from over 100 different lingerie brands and receiving up to 1.2 million visitors a month, clearly making it one of the most popular lingerie retail sights in the UK.
The home shopping group N. Brown has now bought Figleaves for a whopping £11.5 million, making N. Brown the biggest online retailer of underwear and lingerie in the UK.
The Chief Executive of N. Brown is reported to be delighted with the new acquisition, being quoted in the Independent as saying “it demonstrates our commitment to continue … to extend our product offers and customer base”.
