Elle Defends Larger Ladies

tape measure Elle Defends Larger LadiesYou might not think that a world famous supermodel known for her slim physique and toned limbs would be the first person to jump to the defence of different body shapes and sizes.

However Australian supermodel and lingerie designer Elle Macpherson has done just that.

Elle is currently hosting the latest season of hit television show Britain’s Next Top Model and it is whilst filming for the show that she sprung to the defence of girls larger than a typical model size 6 or 8.

The Sun reports that fellow judge and fashion designer Julien Macdonald announced that no one larger than a size 8 should be allowed as a contestant, as this is the average size for catwalk models.

He claimed that it would be ridiculous to have any contestants larger than a tiny size 8, stating that they would be a ‘laughing stock’.

Elle, however, completely disagreed, arguing that shape and proportion was more important than size. She also pointed out that models of all shapes and sizes are now walking down the catwalk.

In support of her argument, Elle referred to her own hugely successful lingerie collection Elle Macpherson Intimates, reminding the designer that the “size D – G cup bras sell more than anything else”.
