Brazil celebrates annual national underwear day!
It is true that lots of people love lingerie, but the South American country of Brazil has taken it a step further by setting aside one day every year to celebrate their national love of underwear! On the 9th February every year the people of Brazil turn their attention to their underwear and 2010 is no exception.
This year was the 4th annual national underwear day in Brazil and to celebrate the occasion, 50 of Brazil’s top models strutted through the streets of Brasilia (the capital of Brazil) wearing nothing but their smalls.
Wearing grey and black lingerie with futuristic make-up and hair, the troupe of models paraded past one of the city’s largest and most popular shopping centres, before filing down to Brasilia’s notoriously busy central bus terminal.
It’s hardly surprising that such a sight turned more than just a few heads, as rather surprised passers by stopped to gawp at the train of models wearing nothing but their undies!
As well as being a celebration of Brazil’s annual national underwear day, Finissimo – the Brazilian fashion magazine that sponsored the event – also stated that this train of underwear-clad models was in part of celebration of the city’s 50th birthday.
